prateik's solo hero movie, "Ek Deewana Tha", is named after a song in the Rishi Kapoor starrer "Karz" and is said to be the young actor's favourite. Madhuri dixit to be waxed at Madame Tussauds London

The dhak dhak queen Madhuri Dixit Nene is soon going to join the bandwagon of Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor. She is the next Indian celebrity to be waxed at Madame Tussauds.

In a statement released by Madame Tussauds, London it was revealed, "The Madame Tussauds team are so excited about 2012 - and we`ve got another new figure announcement for you. The next Bollywood star to join Madame Tussauds London will be Madhuri Dixit-Nene. She will be joining the attraction in March 2012."

The statement further added "The award winning actress Madhuri Dixit-Nene is the latest Indian film star set to join the A-list line up here at Madame Tussauds London. Madhuri, famed for her dazzling dancing, has already given a sitting to our sculptors in Mumbai and is expected to unveil her likeness here in March.

The decision to include Madhuri is set to delight Bollywood fans around the world as we are constantly inundated with requests to feature Madhuri. Her figure will make a stunning new addition to our Bollywood area which continues to grow in popularity every year. With so many awards to her name and a career spanning over 25 years she undoubtedly deserves her place here and we expect huge interest in the figure when she takes up residence next year!”

An elated Madhuri said, “I am really thrilled I am going to be included at Madame Tussauds. It`s a real mark of achievement and to be recognized for ones art and work. It`s also wonderful to be following in the footsteps of other Bollywood stars and some of my personal heroes!"

Madhuri would be closely concerned in the formation process, and has agreed to donate a Manish Malhotra sari for her wax model from her personal wardrobe.

Actress Mallika Sherawat has walked away with the cream at a time when A-listers are keeping away from performing on New Year’s Eve. Sources say that Mallika is netting in a cool sum for her half hour appearance at 11 pm at a private hotel — estimated to be around Rs4 lakh per minute.
“She has been paid an advance, which is more than seventy five per cent of the total fees. The organisers will pay her more if she decides to stay for a longer duration on stage. She is the highest paid performer for the New year bash this year,” informs a source.
With most A-list actors staying away, the New Year parties have come as a boon for other stars, who are making most of the opportunities coming their way. Sources say that the real reason for A-listers staying away is because most hotels have pruned their budgets this year.
“Some stars wanted a 25 per cent hike from the money that they earned last year, and that was the least amount that they were negotiating. The hotels have downgraded their budgets because some of them couldn’t meet the targets they had set for the New Year bashes last year,” adds the source.
“There was no reason for me to dance anywhere this time, because hotels are not willing to spend and more so, they were not ready to improve on the fees that I charged two years back. How can I work with a salary that I got two years back?” quipped a leading actor.
Some of the hotels have also included few more sops for actors as perks — free membership to their spas and complimentary stays at their properties for a stipulated time.

“I was playing a Maharashtrian girl for the second time. When Karan Malhotra and I discussed the film, we were very clear that we have to try to keep this character as different as possible from my character of Sweety in ‘Kaminey’ because the personalities of both the girls are different.”
